First, visit Cap Spartel, the northwesternmost point of Africa, where the Mediterranean and Atlantic waters merge in a mesmerizing display. The historic lighthouse here has guided sailors since 1864. Continue to the Caves of Hercules, a natural grotto steeped in mythology, where the legendary hero supposedly rested after completing his twelve labors. The cave's ocean-facing opening, shaped remarkably like the African continent, creates an unforgettable photo opportunity.
Enjoy a brief exploration of Tangier's medina, experiencing the city's unique blend of Moroccan and European influences, before beginning your mountain journey. Start at Outa el Hammam square, the lively heart of the old town, surrounded by cafes and dominated by the 15th-century Grand Mosque with its distinctive octagonal minaret.
